Every year, around 500-600 young adults age out of foster care in New York City, often stepping into adulthood with limited possessions and support. City Living NY bridges this gap by providing essential household items, turning their living spaces into homes and setting the foundation for their success. Your support makes this vital work possible.

 

1. Make a donation

Providing home goods is just the beginning of our work with youth. Our dedicated team of social workers works one-on-one to ensure our clients are stably housed and progressing toward their personal goals. Your donation can help us reach even more young people in need. Consider making a one-time or recurring donation to sustain our vital support and transform lives every day!

 

2. Send a gift from Amazon

Every year, 500-600 young adults age out of the foster care system in NYC, often with only a few belongings. While some may secure basic furniture through the child welfare system, they still lack essential household items for cooking, sleeping, and cleaning. You can help fill this crucial need by purchasing starter-apartment basics like pots, pans, and bedding from our Amazon Wish List.

 

Please include your name on the gift card or email us at team@citylivingny.org to let us know about your donation. Our list is constantly updated to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Your generosity ensures these young adults have the essentials to start their new lives on the right foot.
