This program touches every client we serve and provides robust support with securing housing vouchers, apartment searches, and eviction prevention. We reach out to every young person quarterly, at a minimum, to ensure any concerns that could lead to a loss of housing are detected early. This initial support addresses both immediate needs for housing as well as providing home good essentials, including all distribution and assembly. City Living has found youth sleeping on the floor, and we are able to act quickly to purchase beds and mattresses. This program also includes providing an air conditioner unit to every new client in preparation for the summer heat. Despite the high risk of homelessness among former foster youth, City Living has successfully prevented 100% of participating youth from losing their housing once it has been secured.
