Jackie Garcia is a seasoned development professional with expertise in strategic fundraising and organizational management. She currently leads Development and Communications for the Harmony Program. Previously, she served as Vice President of Development at Black Girls Code. During her 20 year span working in fundraising she has held leadership positions with The Friends of Governors Island, Hudson Guild, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, and the Wildlife Conservation Society (Bronx Zoo). Her commitment to the sector represents Jackie‘s ongoing dedication to social impact and New York City.

Lizbeth Adams received her Bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master’s degree in Psychology from Boston College. She began her career as a psychologist but early on segued into the securities industry where she held positions in Human Resources and Sales. Lizbeth served as Board President of Our House Foundation which provides housing and employment placement of developmentally disabled adults. She additionally served on the Board of Youth Communication, an organization that provides powerful, teen-written stories and professional development to help educators and youth workers engage struggling youth. Lizbeth currently serves on the Board of the Foundation for Justice through Education, which has funded unique educational programs at universities in the United States and England.

Sameer is the Managing Director, Debt Capital Markets – Global Private Credit Origination and Syndicate at Mizuho Securities USA. He leads private credit origination and syndication efforts, focusing on sectors such as US Industrial, Sponsor, and FIG. Before joining Mizuho, Sameer held senior roles at J.P. Morgan, where he raised over $50 billion in capital for global issuers. He began his career in corporate treasury and debt capital markets at J.P. Morgan, working across New York and Sydney. Sameer holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from The Ohio State University.

Reia Balchan currently leads the global fees management function at Wells Fargo within the legal strategy and innovation team. Before joining Wells Fargo, Reia served as Director of Strategic Planning at BNP Paribas, where she managed a variety of special projects, digital initiatives, and other operational and financial support for the Americas legal team. She previously led a team that supported debt and derivatives transactions for the treasury legal department at GE Capital and served as Vice President at JP Morgan Chase / Bear Stearns, where she drafted and negotiated ISDA master agreements and other credit support documentation. Reia is passionate about working with children in foster care and previously volunteered with CASA-NYC. She is excited to bring her skills and passion to working with youth and supporting their journey to independence.

Kelsey Kovas serves as the Senior Community Outreach Manager at First Republic Bank, now part of JPMorgan Chase, where she oversees their financial education and workforce development programming throughout New York and Connecticut. She attended Marymount Manhattan College, studying Business with a focus in Media and Arts Management. Kelsey’s extensive dedication to numerous community partners and schools over the past decade has provided her with significant opportunities to engage with, and better understand, New York’s youth.

Charell Star is a journalist and online media personality, contributor and featured lifestyle expert for on-air, on-camera and online video shows and segments. She has contributed to broadcast and digital media outlets such as Marie Claire, Fox 5 – Good Day New York, NBC 4 New York Live and Second Look TV. She is also the founder, publisher, and writer of “Not Just a Girl in a Dress”, a highly popular lifestyle blog which shares inspiring stories and trending news that help women readers define their own versions of success. In 2015, she was awarded Black Enterprise Magazine’s “Follow Worthy Blogger of the Year, named to Quirky Brown Love’s list of “Most Amazing Bloggers,” and featured as “Hot Topic Blogger Host of the Day” on the Wendy Williams Show. Charell is also a former foster care youth and knows firsthand the challenges facing the foster care population. She has been passionate about partnering with organizations, advocates, and brands that provide foster youth needed services, support, and encouragement over the years.

Christina joined the City Living Board after participating in our program. Christina received her BS in Criminal Justice from John Jay College/CUNY in 2018. Christina worked at the Amethyst’s Women’s Project, Safe Horizon, and Arts and Literacy After School and Summer Program, all while attending high school before graduating as her class valedictorian. Christina began her career at iFoster in 2018, where she started as a Program Specialist. Christina was promoted to her current role as Job Success Coordinator & Trainer, where she develops and facilitates professional development curriculum content for transitional aged youth. Christina is currently a law student at Fordham Law School. CLNY values the voice and lived experience that Christina brings to us as we ensure we are involving the community we serve.

Alex Tint is a Senior Director at Yahoo!, overseeing Affiliate Commerce Operations. With a strategic role, Alex manages editorial teams that generate significant annual sales, collaborates on cross-functional projects, and delivers performance reports to C-Level executives. Prior to Yahoo!, he worked at Credit Suisse as an Investment Banking Associate and at NBC Sports Group as an Associate Producer, winning an Emmy Award for his work on the 2012 Olympic Games Coverage. Alex holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis. He has also served as a Legal Assistant at Fross Zelnick Lehrman & Zissu, P.C. Alex is passionate about supporting youth and community initiatives, and brings his extensive experience in finance, strategy, and media to the City Living NY board.

Alma V. Mejia is a Senior Manager/Director in the Economic and Valuation Services at KPMG. She collaborates in the development of innovative solutions to deliver tax and transfer pricing services to clients. With over 16 years of experience at KPMG, Alma has strong familiarity with agile methodologies, product and project management. She has previously served as a Financial Analyst at SC Johnson and a Transfer Pricing Associate at EY. Alma holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Tecnológico de Monterrey. She is also certified as a Disciplined Agile Scrum Master and a Project Manager Professional by the Project Management Institute. Alma has volunteered with the Downtown Women’s Center and the Global Give Back Circle, mentoring at-risk adolescent girls. Alma is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and brings a wealth of expertise and passion for helping youth and community development to City Living NY.

Amanda Weiss is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Private Equity & Impact Investing at Apollo Global Management, where she manages business operations and strategy across a broad range of functional areas, including human capital, legal, forecasting, and technology implementation. In her role, Amanda drives deal origination, revamps deal processes, and leads team integration efforts. Prior to her current role, Amanda was an Associate in the Office of the Chairman at Goldman Sachs, where she strategized internal and external engagements for the COO/President and managed client relationships. Amanda holds dual A.B. degrees in Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizational Studies, and Public Health from Brown University, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She is passionate about social impact and has volunteered as a helpline volunteer for the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD). Amanda brings her expertise in finance, operations, and social responsibility to the City Living board.

John Brosens is a Vice President at Lubert Adler Partners, overseeing family office relationships and investment strategies. With a background in real estate private equity, he has led acquisitions, business development, and fundraising efforts totaling over $130 million. Previously, he worked at Locale Hospitality and Stolar Capital, managing expansion and investment strategies. A former AmeriCorps member at City Year South Bronx, John is committed to youth development. He holds a B.A. in Political Economy from Georgetown University and has served as a Co-Op Board Treasurer, overseeing shareholder and commercial lease matters.

Risa Letowsky is Co-chair of the Leasing Practice at Adler & Stachenfeld LLP. Ms. Letowsky has extensive experience representing landlords and tenants in large-scale office, retail, restaurant, shopping center, co-working, industrial, and ground lease transactions. Prior to joining Adler & Stachenfeld, Ms. Letowsky was Special Counsel at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP. Earlier in her career, Ms. Letowsky served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Rouse Properties, Inc., and as an associate in the real estate group of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. Ms. Letowsky is the Firm’s hiring partner. She is also a member of the Firm’s women’s initiative, the Co-chair of the Firm’s mentoring program, and Co-chair of the Alumni Committee. Ms. Letowsky serves on the Cofactor Council of SparkYouth NYC, a nonprofit whose mission is to ignite growth opportunities in community-based programs to expand opportunities for the young people of New York City. Ms. Letowsky also dedicates time as a mentor to junior high school students in Harlem who are part of B.O.N.D. (Brothers on a New Direction) and G.L.O.W (Girls Learning Their Own Worth).
